Hard to Schedule Babies...

Dear Holly,
Can the ideas regarding scheduling be applied when you only have a one year old and are pregnant or do your children have to be school age? I understand the basic premise that you illustrate with the Mother Teresa example. They were first bride's of Christ, not social workers, and their work with the poor stemmed from their love for Christ. But when I looked at your example schedule in the beginning of the book it doesn't seem something that would be feasible with a baby and things get harder and take longer as I get bigger (I'm only 5 1/2 months now but I'm already slowing down). I guess my big frustration with having a baby is that it's very hard to schedule or do anything or know how long anything will take or do anything without interruptions so my life feels chaotic a lot of the time

Disillusioned with Aspects of Motherhood...

Dear Holly,
I am struggling a bit. I would never put my kids in daycare and I've waited a long time (I'm 35) to meet the right man and have children in my life. They deserve my time right now, but I find myself counting down the years until I can put them in school and go back to work, which is where I feel like I belong. I'm disappointed that I waited so long to be a mother and, even though I love my daughter, I don't really like being home all that much. I don't know if this stems from lack of experience as a mother, or poor scheduling, or disillusionment as I transition through change, or what! I didn't have any experience with children or babies before I became a mother - in fact I had never seen a newborn until a month or so before I had one myself ! But for years I was a corporate project manager, worked with youth at my parish, and did other volunteer work every Saturday before I got married and had my daughter so I know my organizing and multi-tasking potential and what it's like to keep that in balance with your spiritual growth. I don't understand what is happening nor how to change it.

A Place to Access Other Mother's Rules?

Dear Holly,
Is there anyplace where moms can, or do, post their rules for those of us newbies to review? The rule in your book is helpful, but it would be so much more helpful for me to see how different families in different situations make up their rules. I'm imagining something with a short descriptor: "We homeschool with 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and run a home business. AND an actual posting or file attachment of their rule." Thanks for any direction you can give.
