MROL Discussion Questions
I have had repeated requests for group discussion questions for MROL to use with support groups or parish meetings. Despite repeated attempts to work on this, every attempt has fallen through and I am led to conclude that a discussion booklet for MROL is not meant to be - most certainly not at this time.
So , I have a different idea, which is much more interactive and much more receptive to the working of the Holy Spirit at every meeting. Why not have each woman read a section of MROL in advance, and then base discussion on these basic questions around each section or 'point' of the 5 Ps:
1. Have I heard about this idea/situation before in church teaching or scripture or my experience?
2. What did I think of automatically when I read this section?
3. What is different/same about this compared to what I usually do?
4. Do I agree with this or not, and explain why.
5. What am I getting out of this for my life? What struck me?
6. What changes do I feel drawn to implement as a result of this?
I think these 6 basic questions personalize the book/discussion, and provide a basic template which eliminates the need to provide upfront quotes or scripture references - as each woman would bring her own learning and experience to the sessions, and really leave room for the individual person and the Holy Spirit to inspire and enlighten.
So, if these basic questions were gone over by the leader before the main points she desires to bring up/focus upon, she would have the basic conversation starter and this would be all the momentum you would need if the women read the
chapter in advance of the session.
