Need a Daily Planner?

Dear Holly,

Your book is awesome, thank you for your personal sacrifices to help other Mom's that are taking their vocation seriously.

I was wondering if you use a planner along with your daily routine or rule (e.g. Franklin planner)? I realize that your rule becomes a large amount of the day but there are appointments, to do lists, etc. to keep track of. If you have created your own could you describe it?

I have tried to use a planner, but they aren't convenient enough for me! What I do now:

I have a block pad beside the stove for kitchen/household purchases up and coming

I have a little block notebook by my office desk with a running list of "To Do's"

Out by my prayer spot, I have my Rule Notebook which I re-assess every year with all the 'room analysis' purchases I wrote down - I refer to this when we actually have money...

And we have a family calendar on the wall in the office by the phone - I just record appointments on that for the whole family.

That's it. Nothing flashy! :-)

I have tried - and failed - with many a paper planner as well. I use my Palm Pilot - which I know some people shy away from because they are too "techy", but in my life, it is literally a life-saving device! Here is a smattering of the information that I keep in this handy little gadget:
ALL of the lists for my Rule
various other lists
it has an alarm set for certain prayer times
a daily task list that can be checked off as items are completed
a grocery list, that I can check items off of and it tallies it all up for me
photos of my children
a dictionary
a notepad
phone/address book
a program for charting my NFP cycle

And so much more! It is tiny, so I have it with me at all times. I know that there are many technological advances that we can live without (trust me, I know - we just cancelled our satellite dish!!) but this is one that I certainly wouldn't want to be without!
