Will a Mother's Rule Work for Me Too?

Dear Holly
Your website seems like such a God-send to me and I am almost crying reading it. Here is my question: I want to be a stay-at-home-mom, but I am a single mother as my husband left me while I was pregnant with my second child. Because of help from my parents, I have been able to stay at home quite a bit, but they are getting older and not able to help as much. I am starting a new business and my 2 yr old stays with me but my eldest is in school (who also begs me to homeschool). It's all too overwhelming and I guess I need to read your book , but I was wondering if it will work for me - you know, as a mom who has to work outside the home?

I began my Mother's Rule because I needed a tool to help bring order to my life and help me cope with my responsibilities as a mom, with my house and with my work - homeschooling.

Just so with you - A Mother's Rule will help you set up your priorities in their proper order; help you use your time wisely; help you fulfill what needs to be done. It will most definitely work for the working Mom as well, and as a single Mom, it might be just what you need since you shoulder the responsibilities alone at this time.

One other thing I'd like to add. God's Will presents itself to us in the present moment, by the responsibilities which loom over us and through the demands of our vocation. Right now, you have a job to do - to get that business up and running to provide for your family. Set about on the tasks God has presented to you, and trust in Him. He knows the desires of your heart and He knows how to make things work out for the best despite what might seem like difficult circumstances. If it is His Will for you to be a stay-at-home-Mom and homeschool your children, He will bring it about.

Sometimes we need to take Highway A to get to Highway B. You never know what your present efforts might bring just down the road. I will pray for you and your husband. God Bless...
