How Do You Live Your Consecration?

Dear Holly
In one of your comments on the website it sounds like you have consecrated yourself to Jesus after the example of St Louis de Montfort. Does living your consecration mainly consist in living your rule? Or do you try to imitate the life of Our Mother in additional ways?

I consecrated myself to Mary using the de Montfort consecration, yes, many many years ago. My 'consecration' to Jesus is a 'given' in my life, but I also have set myself aside for Mary as well. She is the Queen Mother of the Son I love, so I go to her to assign my tasks, so to speak...

My consecration to Mary in my life just means that I love her, and I try to put myself at her service (which is always the same as serving Jesus, for Mary wants only what God wants). We have a relationship, and I count on her for everything. I don't consciously try to imitate her virtues except for her main one: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord ... YES GOD!! Be it done unto me..."

That's the heart of my consecration to her, and she says "Do whatever He tells you." I do the de Montfort consecration (the short one) to her every morning, (listed on this site), and I try to turn myself over to her and her guidance.

As a result, I believe Mary led me to a mother's rule of life, as part of her maternal care for me.
