Welcome to "Thoughts for Moms"

Dear Friends,

"Thoughts for Mom" is a special place to receive spiritual sustenance related to the vocation of motherhood. Here I will post various reflections — from popes, saints, and Catholic writers, to my thoughts and yours — to help us better live our mission as Moms, and to help us give our vocation the depth of meaning God intended it to have.
Once more, you and I both have something to share, so please join me in adding meditations and personal insights in the comments section under each post, or contacting me at holly@mothersruleoflife.com with your own reflection to add.

God Bless,
Holly Pierlot

Reducing Pressure - Coming to Peace

"God does not expect you to be anxious or over-cautious about your daily activities and occupations. You do not have to think constantly about your every feeling, thought, desire, word or action, to determine whether your behavior is correct or pleasing to God. You simply need to adopt an attitude of good will and a general intention to live your daily life as intelligently and reasonably as you can, with God's help."
Anthony J. Paone, S.J. , 'My Daily Life', NY , Confraternity of the Precious Blood, 1970, p13

God knows full well of what we are made - He knows we are weak, but He also knows of our desire to do a good job in this life. He doesn't want us worrying or stressed out because we are not living up to unreasonable expectations of ourselves.

We have been given a mind for a reason -- to help us live life intelligently, by applying our reason towards our vocational and personal needs. He wants us to do this, as well as to enjoy, in gratefulness, the life he has given us. But he also understands that full personal integration - the complete internal harmony of 'person' which allows us to always act well - is a process, and often a slow one.

While we are still so weak, let us do our best to live our Mother's Rule (remembering even St Faustina kept track of the many times each day when she wasn't as faithful to her rule as she wanted). But where we fail, we just get up and try again, with the general intention of pleasing God. A saint is just a sinner who keeps trying....

Good Morning Ladies,
Sleepless nights, I have become conditioned to, but another issue has reared it's ugly head over the past year or two. Horomones!!- Does anyone have any thoughts regarding those days when the situation in your home hasn't changed, but the situation in your head has ?
I'm not just talking about pms, but the intense 40+ roller coaster.
Praying through them helps, but somedays I can't even do that.
Any thoughts?
