Not Sure I Need a Mother's Rule
Dear Holly
I have read A Mother's Rule of Life , but am not sure I need to do this. I don't normally feel overwhelmed like you did, so why would I need to consider a rule?

A Rule of Life is a tool, used by religious and layperson alike, for seeking Christian perfection and becoming holy - not primarily intended to deal with feeling overwhelmed with housework (although it sure does a good job in dealing with that!)
A rule brings complete order to one's life, enables the heart and mind to become recollected and intimate with God, and leads us to 'supernaturalize' our lives. Every moment we consciously fulfill God's Will; every moment we offer self and task to God like Christ; every moment we conquer whim and sloth, and subject ourselves to the conscious and disciplined living out of God's intent for us.
A rule has practical benefits, like a clean home and a happy Mom, but it's primary beauty is in the spiritual fruit it produces.
