Living Each Moment Well for God
"I will no longer look back, but do willingly, simply, humbly, and bravely the duties that come from the circumstances in which I find myself, as your will. To do quickly. To do everything. To do it well. To do it joyfully -- whatever you want of me right now, even if it is beyond my strength, even if it asks my life..."
Pope Paul VI, Pensiero alla Morte, L'Osservatore Romano, August 5, 1979, p5.

Sometimes we might feel that mopping a floor or reading a story to a child isn't very 'important'. There are many in our society who would tell us just that. And yet our efforts mirror Mary's humble service in the home, and what was most special about this, was she did it because God asked it of her. So like Mary and Pope Paul VI, we can see what's being asked of us now, and get up and go load that dishwasher. Content in God's appreciation of our seemingly 'meager' efforts, we can humbly say, "OK. I'll give this my all -- just for You!" And then smile.
