Discerning How Many 'Outside Activities' To Do

Dear Holly
I am trying to work out my Mother's Rule, but I am confused about how to know which outside activities my children and I should be involved in. There are so many things offered - so many different clubs and sports and groups -- how do I know how much is too much?

Confusion may be caused by beginning your Mother's Rule at the wrong place - by focusing on outside activities first. Instead, start with the 5 Ps in their proper order - work through your Prayer first, then your Person, and then Partner, Parent and Provider. When these are accounted for, see how much time you have left, and based on the interests and needs of your family, decide from there.
