A "Constant Danger" for Moms
"A constant danger for apostolic workers is to become so involved in their activity for the Lord that they forget that the Lord is in every activity.
They must be aware, therefore, of the ever-increasing importance of prayer in their lives and must learn to devote themselves to it generously. To accomplish that, they need silence in their entire being, which requires regular periods of silence and personal discipline to encourage contact with God."

JP II called family life a 'genuine apostolate', and so his warning to apostolic workers applies to us Moms too! All the details of family life can keep us busy, busy. busy. In fact, it can lead to a state of 'dissipation' where we feel scattered and out of touch with God. This constitutes an obstacle to intimacy with God.
But our Mother's Rule diminishes this threat with an ordered flow of prayer time , work time and play time. Prayer is guaranteed throughout our day, and having organized our duties into set times and places, our hearts and minds are relieved of too many concerns, fostering interior attentiveness to God.
